正 Negli anni 1991 e 1992, l’Autore ha studiato la distribuzione degli Anfibi nel territoriodel Comune di Brescia. I siti riproduttivi delle otto specie rinvenute compreudono stagni naturali e artifi-ciali, pozze, sorgenti, canali, vasche, e persino mastelli e piscine. Sono emerse interessanti relazioni tra le singole specie e i loro habitat: Triturus vulgaris meridionalisè assente da stagni privi di vegetazione; Triturus carnifex occupa spesso gli stessi stagni della specieprecedente, ma manca da quelli più piccoli e si riproduce anche in assenza di piante acquatiche; Salaman-dra salamandra è confinata nei boschi di latifoglie prealpini; Bufo viridis rive solo in ambienti apertie si riproduce quasi esclusivamente in corpi d’acqua senza vegetazione; Rant dahnatina è legata ai boschidi latifoglie; le Rane verdi (Rant lessonae e R. esculenta) sono invece assenti da zone boschive. In duesiti è stata riscontrata la presenza di Tritoni neotenici (Triturus vulgaris e T. carnifex). Moire delle popolazioni presenti sono attuahnente minacciate di estinzione, per cause naturali (inter-ramento di corpi d’acqua), o antropiche (prosciugamenti, gestione intensiva dell’agricoltura, introdnzionidi pesci, inquinamento). In 1991 and 1992,the Author studied the distribution and ecology of 8 species of Amphibians in an area in NorthernItaly, including suburban, rural, and inountain woodland zones (up to an altitude of 874 m a.s.l.). Reproduction sites include artificial ponds in gardens, natural ponds, pools, puddles, spring waterreservoirs, canals, gravel pits, and even vats and swimming-pools. Interesting relationships were found between Amphibians and habitats: Triturus vulgaris meridionalisis absent from ponds without aquatic vegetation; Triturus carnifex often occurs in the same ponds asT. vulgaris, but avoids the smallest ones and does not require water plants; Salamandra salamandrawas only found in mountain woodland areas; Bufo viridis only lives in open areas and almost alwaysreproduces in pools with no vegetation; Hyla arborea frequently spawns in artificial raised pools andvats; Rana dalmatina requires wooded habitats; Water frogs (Rana lessonae and R. esculenta) are absentfrom woods. Neotenic newts (Triturus vulgaris and T. carnifex) were also found in the surveyed territory.Many species are locally threatened by pollution, drying of ponds and pools and artificial introductionof fish in ponds.
