In the context of rapid urbanization in China, urban housing construction is rising rapidly. In contrast, the number of self-built houses in rural areas has slowed down. This paper attempts to explore the impact of urbanization on rural self-built housing from the macro and micro levels in rural areas of Tianjin. Based on the statistical data of the yearbook, this paper analyzes the change of construction volume and its causes in Tianjin since the last 30 years. Secondly, on the basis of real investigation, the paper summarizes the current situation of self-built housing and the evolution trend of monomer.
