The paper presents the rectification and inversion process of static excitation system for synchronous generator with proposing a method of making the bridge rectifiers of excitation transformer and the thyristor equivalent to the load impedance during the inversion, the analysis on de-excitation process during the inversion, and the calculation of inversion time combining with circuits analysis.
