Sixteen Views on Jialing Tone by Ye Hua of the Ming dynasty is similar to Sixteen Views on Composing Singing Verse by Gu Ying of the Yuan dynasty, but they are not exactly the same. Jialing Tone is the collection of sanqu, namely lyric verses edited but not created by Ye Hua. Except two ballads with unknown origins, Leisure is o⁃riginated from Ma Zhiyuan’ s Mood in Autumn, Appreciating Moon is from Shen Shi’ s Lovesick by the Window, and the rest are from Wang Tingne’ s Collected Works of Mr. Zuo Yin. Ye Hua adapted and compressed these verses in dif⁃ferent degrees. From the perspective of the thought, Jialing Tone is on withdrawing from the society and criticizing the practical life, which both permeated with the understanding of Buddhism and Taoism.%明代叶华作《迦陵音指迷十六观》与元代顾瑛《制曲十六观》类似但并非完全相同。
