In this paper the problems on SP kiln period is discussed, which lead to low CaCO3 decarbon-ation rate in the hot meal, so that kiln coating is vulnerable and material frequently falls off and blocks the pre-heater. Excellent effects are achieved when skipping the SP kiln period, neglecting the function of the dividing gate below the C4 preheater and sending the material completely into the calciner.
