基于文化核心维度的中美文化差异研究

         

摘要

本文以Steers, R. M.和Nardon, L提出的与全球经济中的社交和商务实际相关5个问题为基础,结合Hofstede的文化洋葱理论,提炼出跨国公司管理中跨文化研究的文化核心维度,从文化的显性及隐性角度探讨了文化核心维度的构成.在此基础上,针对美国在华跨国公司中美之间文化差异的具体体现,重点分析并探讨了文化显性差异和文化隐性差异对跨国公司跨文化管理的影响.跨国公司经营中最常见和最公开化的文化差异,就是来自行为者双方的象征符号系统之间的差异,即文化显性差异.除此之外,权力分配、社会组织、与环境关系、时间模式及规则导向这些文化隐性维度所带来的差异更是不容忽视.文章最后指出美国在华跨国公司不仅存在中美文化差异现象,而且还存在中美文化重叠现象,也就是在中美两种文化的交互影响下,其本身原有的独特的特征已经逐渐不明显,取而代之的则是文化的融汇现象.%Based on the five essential issues concerning the social and business reality in global economy proposed by Steers, R. M. and Nardon, L, together with the cultural theory of Hofstede's "Onion Culture", the authors put forward the cultural core dimensions to analyze the cultural differences between China and US in the management of MNCs (Multinational corporations) from the perspective of explicit culture dimension. The emphasis is focused on the analysis and exploration of the cultural explicit and tacit differences and the influences on MNCs' cross-cultural management. The most commonly-seen and publicly-observed cultural differences in the operation of MNCs lie in the behavior of both symbol systems which reflect themselves in the explicit cultural differences. In addition, the tacit cultural differences, which fall into power distribution, social organization, the environment, time mode, and rule orientation, shall never be ignored. Finally cultural overlapping phenomenon is discussed further together with the existence of cultural differences in Sino-US MNCs which refer to the phenomenon that with the interaction of two cultures, integration gradually replaces the inconspicuous characteristics of cultural intrinsic features.
