This paper is concerned with the numerical technique based on the method of character-istics for three-dimensional dynamic thermoelastic problems. A numerical example for the three-di-mensional stress wave propagation in a thermoelastic bar of square cross section subjected to both animpact loading and a thermal shock is presented.
