机译：Library textbooks on document cataloging and information organization published in China since the 1980’s are examined in this paper.By comparing these Chinese textbooks with their foreign counterparts,the library organization objects and the levels of organization are studied;and an attempt to clarify the fundamental principles behind the beliefs of library information organization and library knowledge organization is provided.Based on this study,the author believes that documents or resources remain as the organization objects of the libraries.The distinction between information organization and knowledge organization for the libraries represents different levels of organization of documents or resources by the libraries:information organization mainly refers to organization of documents or resources using metadata standards;and knowledge organization mainly refers to organization of documents or resources using knowledge organization systems.
