中国侨民是我国国家利益在海外的延伸，国家保护其权益意义重大。有关部门应进一步树立“以人为本”的理念，遵循国际法保护人权的原则，借鉴西方国家领事护侨的经验和做法，加大保护中国侨民权益力度，不断涵养侨务资源，更加激发他们的中华情怀，为加快我国现代化建设以及构建和谐世界作出新贡献。%The interests of overseas Chinese citizens are the extension of China＇s national interests. It is important for Chinese government to protect their legitimate rights and interests. The relevant departments should establish the concept of people-oriented, follow the principle of protection of human rights in international law, and learn the experience from western countries, to strengthen the consular protection for overseas Chinese citizens.
