main soybeans bred ,examined and approved and also widely spread in Henan Province were used as the material to study basic hereditary parameters,hereditary correla- tion and path analysis of the7properties concerning with grain weight per plant.The result showed that plantheight,grain weight,effective legume and ratio of grain to stem were more positive correlated with grain weight per plant,but less that with its surroundings.This meant the relation among them was mainly controlled by hereditary factors ,and reliable as target to select and enhance the yield.Of all the hereditary variation parameters,the grain weight per plantand ratio of grain to stem were the biggest,the quantity of per pod was the smallest.The plant heightand ratio of grain to stem had more heredity,but grain weight per joint had less heredity.The order of factors contributing to yield was grain weight,effective legume and ratio of grain to stem.The further path analysis showed thatgrain weight and ef- fective legume were important target for high yield breeding.The tendency should be to en- hance grain weight and effective legume on the basis of appropriate density,and increase the ratio of grain to stem.
