Objective To explore the relationship between the matrix metalloproteinases - 9 ( MMP - 9 ) and the pathogenesis of brain glioma. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of MMP - 9 in 52 cases of brain glioma, MMP - 9 mRNA was detected in brain glioma by in situ hybridization. Results The expression of MMP - 9 was positively correlated with tumor classification ( P < 0. 01 ). There was positive correlation between MMP - 9 mRNA and tumor classification(P < 0. 01 ). Conclusion MMP - 9 may be involved in the development of brain glioma. MMP - 9 is a prognostic indicator in brain glioma.%目的 探讨基质金属蛋白酶-9(matrix metalloproteinases,MMP-9)与脑胶质瘤发生发展的关系.方法 以52例人脑胶质瘤组织标本作为研究对象,采用免疫组织化学方法检测MMP-9的表达,并应用原位杂交技术检测MMP-9 mRNA在人脑胶质瘤中的表达情况.结果 MMP-9、MMP-9 mRNA的表达水平与肿瘤的分级呈正相关(r=0.925,P均<0.01).结论 MMP-9在脑胶质瘤发生发展中具有重要作用,MMP-9可能与判断预后有关.
