Alzheimer's disease(AD)has an unknown pathogenesis, which is one of the key factors leading to the death of the elderly.Recent studies have shown that glial cells, including microgli、astrocytes、oligo-dendrocytes and oligodendrocyte progenitor cells(NG2 glial cells),are closely related to the pathogenesis of AD.It is believed that activated microglial cells are very easy to induce neuritis and then lead to neurodegeneration. In this paper, the characteristics of the above four glial cells, their functions and their correlation with AD were reviewed,in order to provide a reference for the further study of the pathogenesis of AD.
