Changes and significance of glucose and insulin cell functions index in Type 2 diabetes patients before and after administration of saxagliptin
Objective:To investigate the changes and significance of glucose and insulin cell functions index in Type 2 diabetes patients before and after administration of saxagliptin. Methods:A total of 79 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes who treated in our hospital from January 2013 to September 2014 were selected by random sampling method. They were divided into study group (n=40) and control group (n=39) according to the treatment methods. Firstly, the two groups were given metformin treatment, and then the observation group was treated with saxagliptin, while the control group was treated with glimepiride. Results: The FPG, 2hPG, HbA1c levels of after treatment in two groups were significantly lower than the before treatment (P<0.05). The pro-Ins and Pro-Ins/Fins levels after treatment in observation group were significantly lower than control group (P<0.05), while the HOMA-β level was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion:The administration of saxagliptin can reduce glucose and protect insulin cell function of patients for type 2 diabetes patients.
