Assessment of sperm quality and oxidative stress injury of testicular tissue after oligoasthenozoospermia model rats received Jianpiyishen prescription

Objective:To study the effect of Jianpiyishen prescription on sperm quality and oxidative stress injury of testicular tissue in oligoasthenozoospermia model rats.Methods:Male SD rats were selected as experimental animals and divided into control group, model group and traditional Chinese medicine group, model group and traditional Chinese medicine group received intragastric administration of ornidazole to establish oligoasthenozoospermia models, and traditional Chinese medicine group received Jianpiyishen prescription intervention. After the intervention, sperm quality as well as ROS, SOD, GSH-Px, MDA, AC and PDE levels in testicular tissue and epididymis tissue was determined.Results: Sperm density, the number of A-grade sperm and the number of A+B-grade sperm in epididymis of model group were significantly lower than those of control group, and the sperm density, the number of A-grade sperm and the number of A+B-grade sperm in epididymis of TCM group were significantly higher than those of model group. ROS, MDA and PDE levels in testis and epididymis tissue of model group were significantly higher than those of control group, and SOD, GSH-Px and AC levels were significantly lower than those of control group; ROS, MDA and PDE levels in testis and epididymis tissue of TCM group were significantly lower than those of model group, and SOD, GSH-Px and AC levels were significantly higher than those of model group. Conclusion:After oligoasthenozoospermia model rats receive the Jianpiyishen prescription, the sperm quality is improved and the oxidative stress injury of testicular tissue is relieved.
