Tubal catheterization for transvaginal gamete intrafallopian transfer:an alterative technique for non-tubal infertility

摘要

Objective: To evaluate the clinical pregnancy rate of transvaginal gamete intrafallopian transfer(TV-GIFT ) for infertile patients with endornetriosis, unexplained factor, polycystic ovariy syndrome(PCOS ) and male factors. Method: The protocol included: (1 ) human manopausal gonadotropin/humanchorionic gonadotropin (HMG/HCG); (2)follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)/HMG/HCG ; (3) short gonadotrophin - releasing hormone agonists (GnRHa)/HMG/HCG; (4) long GnRHa/HMG/HCG. Transvaginal ultrasound-guided oocyte retrieval was followed by TV-GIFT. 3. 3±2. 4 oocytes and 106 sperm in 50 μlculture medium were injected into the fallopian tube through transfer catheter. Results: The TV-GIFT wasused in a total of 14 treatment cycles (13 cases) and the procedure was completed easily in 10 and difficult in4 cycles, resulting in 5 clinical pregnancies (35. 7% per cycle). Of the 5 clinical pregnancies, 4 were intrauterine pregnancies, (2 of which ended in abortion) and 1 ectopic pregnancy. Conclusion: Simple and costeffective TV-GIFT may achieve a high pregnancy rate. Comparing with laparoscopic GIFT, TV-GIFT is safeand with minimal surgical intervention without anesthesia. It is an alternative for nontubal infertility.
