Besides more or less numerous Eteo-Cretan inscriptions of uncertain linguistic value, two short texts of spells against illnesses connected with Crete and one or more pre-Greek Cretan languages (but not necessarily with Eteo-Cretan proper) are preserved in the Egyptian medical sources. These texts including non-Egyptian, presumably Cretan, passages are as follows: (1) Incantation for an Asiatic illness consisting of what [inhabitants of] k-f-ti-w (Crete) say for it:s3-n-ti-k3-pw-py-w3-y-i-y-m~c-n-ti-r3-k3-k3-r3. This formula is pronounced over the liquid g3, the drink ~cw3yt, urine, the liquid bt. Apply.
