The 20th anniversary of IRTCES was celebrated with a pageant at the IRTCES building in Beijing on July 21, 2004. Mr. Lisheng Suo, the Vice Minister of Water Resources, Mrs. Zhengying Qian, the former vice chairman of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Y. Aoshima, the Director and Representative, UNESCO Office of the Representative to DPR Korea, Japan, Mongolia, PR of China and Republic of Korea, Mr. Xiaogang Tian, the Secretary General of the Chinese National Commission of UNESCO, Dr. Guangdou Zhang, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science and Chinese academy of engineering, Dr. Bingnan Lin, Academician of Chinese Academy of Science, Mr. Zhenhuai Yang, the former Minister of MRS, Mr. Gengyi Chen, the former Vice Minister of MRS and Mr. Chunyuan Zhang,the former Vice Minister of MRS and 110 guests attended the ceremony.
