Today, the UK is one of the most connected European countries with more than 90 percent Internet penetration - above the EU average of 79 percent.As in many other developed countries, cyber security is a major challenge for the UK. In 2010, the British government recognized cyber security as a "Tier One risk" to its economic and national security, and vowed to make the UK "the safest place to live and work online." The Cyber Readiness Index (CRI) 2.0 has been employed to evaluate UK preparedness levels for cyber risks.
