To obtain empirical formula for calculating the conveying capacity of steel ball screw conveyor in particle impact drilling technology project, relevant tests and research for factors impacting conveying capacity are performed such as depth of screw groove, surface quality of screw and cylinder wall, material size, clearance between screw and cylinder wall, etc. Test results show that conveying capacity increases with the depth increase of screw groove, while surface quality level of screw and cylinder wall takes little impact on conveying capacity; grain size and particle surface smoothness have certain impact on the conveying capacity; and the bigger the clearance between screw and cylinder wall, the lower the conveying capacity. According to the final test results, an empirical formula for calculating the conveying capacity of steel ball screw conveyor is obtained, which is verified with the steel ball screw conveyor in the particle reverse flow test device, providing provide guidance to application design of successive device and equipment production.
