Starting from the structure and composition of hair, the mechanism of hair dye was summarized and the hair dye was classified again. Meanwhile, the chemical composition of hair dyes and natural plant hair dye were compared, the emphasis was on the great advantages of natural plant hair dye and development prospects. The present development of natural plant hair dye and application technology of breakthrough and innovation was focused on. In addition, the sensitization of hair dye was analyzed and a considerable solution was put forward.
