There are many different ways in external therapy of TCM in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea .This is an effective method with obviously clinical effect , convenient application , economical and practical feature and no significant adverse reactions in general .In today’s competitive and high-pressure social environment, primary dysmenorrhea gets people’s attention because of its high incidence and influence on people ’ s normal work and daily life .Now the external therapy of TCM in the treatment of primary dysmenorrhea in nearly five years was summarized .%中医外治法治疗原发性痛经的方法越来越多，临床疗效特别明显，使用方便、经济实用，一般均无明显的不良反应，是治疗原发性痛经的有效方法之一。在如今竞争激烈的高压社会环境下，因原发性痛经的发病率极高及严重影响了人们的正常工作和日常生活而受到越来越多人的关注，现将最近5年来与原发性痛经相关的中医外治法治疗情况综述如下。
