对明清黄花梨家具用材及其品种的鉴别，至今仍没有行之有效的断代方法。因此，有必要以历史资料为依据，用历史发展的眼光，把握黄花梨家具的发展脉络，对黄花梨家具所用材质及其品种的鉴别问题进行讨论。%Timber species identification is still an inefficient way to date the Ming-Qing fragrant rosewood furniture.It is necessary for realizing the fragrant rosewood furniture's development context to refer to historical data and to discuss the problem of species identification.
