机译:While the study of early China in Western academia has blossomed in many respects,interests in Chinese political thought are rather overshadowed by inquiries into other aspects.Only recently do we see a kind of revival:More contributions have been made to the study of early Chinese political thought per se.One probable explanation is that,compared to other intellectual and cultural legacies,political thought in early China has,seemingly,less to offer to contemporary life,especially the texts and ideas of the"Legalists"who are often described as advocates of autocratic rule.Among those extant Legalist texts,Shangjunshu商君書(The book of Lord Shang)stands as a notable example.
