Complex FMmlet transform is convenient for dealing with complex signals. But the overwhelming majority of actual signals encountered in real world are real rather than complex, and are discrete rather than continuous. If we have real formulations of FMmlet transform,it becomes unnecessary to devise special suboptimal algorithms to handle real signals. Consequently, such recasting of a problem can save a good deal of computations.Towards this end, we derive in this paper the real, discrete, and real discrete FMmlet transforms from the complex FMmlet transform.
