The world s third-largest computer manufacturer, Lenovo, announced in late May that the company s CFO (chief financial officer), Ma Xuezheng, or Mary Ma, had retired. Ma, 54, had been with Lenovo for 17 years. An accomplished English translator, she joined the company as an executive assistant in 1990. She joined the firm s board as executive director in 1997, and, in 2000, she was named CFO.
