The crystal structure and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility of [(dien)Cu(H2O)(μ-im)Co(NH3)4(μ-im) (H2O)Cu(dien](NO3)51) have been determined. The complex crystallizes in the mon-oelinic system. In the cation, the imidazolate ligands connect one Co(Ⅲ) and two Cu(Ⅱ) stoma, forming animidazolates-bridged heterotrinuclear complex.Co(Ⅲ) atom is of a regular octahedral configuration andCu(Ⅱ) atoms are of distorted square pyramid configuration. The cations are connected by hydrogen bondsthrough NO3-anions forming infinite chains. The fit to magnetic susceptibility data for powder sample overtemperature range 1.8-300 K shows that there is a weak antiferromagnetic exchange interaction betweenCu(Ⅱ) ions in cation. The exchange mechanism has been discussed.
