Adaptive Multichannel Equalization Utilizing Multiple Antennas for a WPMA System over Frequency Selective Slowly Fading Channels
A wavelet packet function basedmultiple access (WPMA) system was developed tomaximize information throughput and improve re-ceiver performance. However, over frequency selec-tive slowly fading channels, the conventional correla-tion receiver results in poor performance. To designan efficient receiver that mitigates residual multipleaccess interference (MAI) and intersymbol interfer-ence, while improving received signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) simultaneously on the uplink, a multichanneldecision feedback equalizer (DFE) using the space di-versity combining (SDC) is proposed in this paper.Since the wavelet packet functions are bandlimited inthe frequency domain, the computational complexityof the proposed receiver does not increase as the num-ber of active user increases. Theoretical analysis andsimulation results show that, the developed equalizerbehaves quite well and outperforms the single channelDFE and the multichannel DFE without SDC greatly.
