Association between nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and subclinical atherosclerosis: a cross-sectional study on population over 40 years old

Background Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is defined as fatty infiltration of liver in the absence of excessive alcohol abuse and whether NAFLD is correlated with subclinical atherosclerosis assessed by CIMT and ba-PWV has not been clearly revealed and remains controversial due to differences in diagnose methods, ethnicity of population and sampling bias.
