A new compound containing polyoxovanadoborate anion was synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. A water molecule at the center of the anion was precisely determined. The crystals of the new compound belong to the monoclinic system, space group P21 with a=1.35002(7), b=2.0864(1), c=2.3667(1) nm, β=90.669(1)°, V=6.6660(5) nm3, Z=4, μ=2.066 mm-1, Dc=2.352 g/cm3, Mr=2359.2, S=1.152,R=0.0642, wR=0.0789.
