The palladium catalyzed hydrostannation of 1-alkenylphosphonates gives the (E)-α-stannyl 1-alkenylphosphonates 2 stereospecifically. Compounds 2 can occur Stille coupling reaction to afford a, b-disubstituted vinylphosphonates with the retention of the configuration.
