The county of Medog,also known as Padmagang,is in Nyingchi,the Tibet Autonomous Region.In Tibetan,medog means"flower"while padmagang means"hidden lotus."Therefore,Medog is also called the"Hidden Land of the Lotus,"sacred in Buddhist geography,adding a touch of poetry and mystery to the county''s profile.Before 2013,this lotus at the southern foothills of the Himalayas went through many hardships and vicissitudes.The primary reason for this is that it lacked access to highways.
