Some 2,000 years ago, the sole trans-continental road -- the Silk Road thatconnected Asia, Europe and Africa -- began in China and ended in North Africaand passed through Central Asia, West Asia,South Asia and Europe. Nowadays theflourishing of science, technology andinternational trade leads to a revolution intraditional international transport, enhancingthe formation of a convenient, effective andreliable intercontinental transport system.So a new road crossing Europe and Asia,called the 21st Century’s Silk Road, is cominginto being, starting from Lianyungang inChina and ending in Rotterdam in theNetherlands.
