Guangzhou is a heroic city with glorious revolution tradition. In the beginning of 20th century, Sun Yat-sen, the pioneer of China's democratic revolution, launched the Hsinhai Revolution, overthrew the feudal monarchy of Qing Dynasty and set up the Republic of China. After the death of Sun Yat-sen, many memorial buildings have been built up for him, among which the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou is the most famous.
