The Yellow River,China’s mother river,regards Ningxia as her favorite child,choosing to spend a little extra time nearby,caressing her.Because Yellow River enters from west Ningxia and then turns to the north away from east Ningxia,water flow in Ningxia is 397km long.Water is the defining element.It creates a miracle called“Jiangnan in the frontier”and a reputation of how the Yellow River prospers Ningxia.There’s even a saying,“When the Yellow River doesn’t burst its bank,the universe is peaceful.”That’s not to say the whole Ningxia is lush;part of it,Xihaigu,was once defined by UNESCO as one of the most uninhabitable places on earth.
