GOLD FOIL PRINT ON EMBROIDERY

摘要

In a verse by Tang-Dynasty poet Wen Tingjun,he describes a court maiden getting up,dressing up and making up in order to express her solitude and depression.The maiden was dressed in a coat decorated with a pair of partridges made of a whole piece of gold foil.This typical Tang-Dynasty gold foil print is quite beautiful but rarely unearthed today.
