<正> On the basis of Chinese and Tibetan historicalmaterials,Mr.Z.Ahmad in his Sino-Tibetan Relations inthe 17th Century,published in 1970,gave a descriptionof Prince Chanhua(lit.Prince of the Propagation ofthe Doctrine of the Buddha)repeatedly requesting anew title from the Qing court during the reign ofEmperor Shunzhi.Prince Chanhua’s title was origi-nally granted by the Ming court.I would like to addsome historical materials and anexplanation toAhmad’s description.Judging from the overall situa-
