Facing Reform's Nexl Challenges The past 10 years of rapid development, a product of government reform-and-opening policies and industrialization, has fueled the major challenges now confronting China. Those challenges are likely to deepen, warns Zhang Wenkui, a researcher at the State Council's Development Research Center unless the country tackles complicated economic and socialissues that accompanied fast economic growth. Without a plan, challenges will mount as China works to sustain development over the next decade.
