600kt／a Methanol Plant in Hainan to Be Built

A 600 kt/a methanol project in Hainan Province with total investment about 1.1 billion RMB has been approved by the State Council. CNOOC Chemical Limited signed investment agreement with Hong Kong Jian Tao Chemical group. The lead work of the project was completed in 2002 and construction began in early 2003. The plant is expected to be commissioned in February 2005.
