After cause analysis of the above-standard amount of bacteria on the surface of diagnostic instruments in the Outpatient Department of Ophthalmology, an improvement plan was established and implemented. This practice had successfully reduced the amount of bacteria from 50 cfu/instrument to 8 cfu/instrument, which greatly improved the qualified rate of the instrument surface in the Outpatient Department of Ophthalmology.
