＜正＞ The price of sulfur in the domesticmarket has continued to go downsince 2006.It has already droppedfrom RMB988 per ton at the begin-ning of 2006 to RMB819 per tontoday.The sustained price reduc-tion is closely related to marketsupply and demand.China’s mas-sive import of sulfur resources re-mains unchanged,but the domes-tic output keeps increasing. Theoversupply imposes considerablepressure on the price.In addition,the capacity of phosphate fertiliz-ers in China is in surplus and thesulfuric acid market continues tobe slack.The demand for sulfur indownstream sectors is therefore al-ways soft.
