Introduction The surface structure, distribution and strength of the active centers of a catalyst would directly affect its catalytic activity and selectivity. In principle all the techniques and methods which can modify the surface and body structure of a catalyst, or influence its physicochemical properties can be used to change the activity and selectivity of a practical catalyst.
