Several autoimmune and infectious diseases are associated with immune-complex glomerulonephritis (ICGN).Simplistically,ICGN can be thought of as having three components:(i) an initiating adaptive immune response to an endogenous or exogenous antigen,(ii) the deposition or formation of immune-complexes within glomeruli,and (iii) inflammatory injury of the glomeruli (Figure 1).
