ON THE WORK PLAN OF CAS DIVISIONS IN THE NINTH FIVE-YEAR PLAN

The organization of the CAS Academic Divisions is the supreme consulting body of the state in the science and technology sector, and in preparing its working plan in the Ninth five-year Plan period, the focus should be on facilitating the implementation of the ’Two Strategies", giving prominence to the central place of academic activities (including providing scientific advice, conducting academic exchange, and spreading science among the public), enhancing the "Two Constructions" (the construction of the CAS membership and the construction of the Academic Divisions themselves in science ethics), and making contributions in three aspects (science progress and training of young scientists; economic construction and social development; improvement of scientific quality of the whole nation). Attentions should also be paid to close cooperation with the research institutes of the CAS.
