In order to foster talents for the next century,the CAS has been working for years to carry out a series of measures in selecting and training candidates.These measures include:expanding postgraduate training scale and introducing a postdoctoral system;sending people,as needed, to study abroad while making devoted efforts to attract overseas students home;conferring outstanding young specialists with senior professional titles through a special award process;setting up a CAS presidential fund and CAS institute director fund and sustaining laboratories for young people and subsidizing young scientists
