Urban cultural heritage （ UCH ） idea is a new concept which developed in the history of human heritage protection ideas . The proposal of Urban cultural heritage idea helps solving the probtem ＂what we should protect＂. Therefore, the idea of urban cultural heritage has theoretical and practical significance.%城市文化遗产思想是在人类遗产保护思想历史中发展起来的新认识。城市文化遗产思想的提出有助于解决当前我国城市文化遗产保护＂保什么＂的问题。因此,城市文化遗产思想具有理论意义和实践意义。
