Effects of ZrC-doping on Microstructural and Mechanical Properties of ZTA Ceramic Composites

         

摘要

The effects of ZrC-doping(10v.%,15v.%,20v.%,25v.%)on microstructural and mechanical properties of ZTA20mol%(zirconia-20mol%toughened alumina)ceramic composites were investigated.Samples were prepared by Spark Plasma Sintering(SPS)at 1400℃and 40 MPa for a soaking time of 15 min.The relative density of samples measured by the Archimedes method was to 99.08%.The XRD patterns(Fig.1)show that the phases of the sintered samples are ZrC,α-Al2O3 and ZrO2,which are the same as the raw powders.This gives that no impurity phase was formed after sintering,indicating that the ceramic composites had excellent chemical compatibility during the sintering.
