Heavy ion therapy for cancer treatment is known as the world’s most advanced and most effective radiotherapy method. Institute of Modern Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences spent a long time to research in this field. The beam of Chinese first medical heavy ion accelerator with independent intellectual property rights was successfully extracted on December 23rd, 2015 in Wuwei. Medical heavy ion accelerator is a huge system; this paper only describes the ion-source and cyclotron control software design.
