Objective To explore the behavioral and physiologic changes of sleep in the heroin ad-dicts. Methods Sleep behavior and all night polysomnographic recording were performed in 32 heroinity disturbance, easy wake, hypersomnia and difficulty falling asleep in patient group weer significantly in-sleep, sceeper, sleep maintenance in patient group were markedly decreased (P < 0.05~ 0.01 ). Whilethe awake dutation, arousal times, sleep stage, tate of awake/asleep were increased in patient group( P <0.05 ~ 0.01 ); The average duration in Ⅲ and Ⅳ stage was [ (9. 1 ± 1.3) % ] and the duration in Ⅰstage was [ ( 14.8 ± 2.8) % ]. Conclusions It is consistent the behavioral disorders of sleep with thephysiologic dysfunction in heroin addicts, and the pathogenesis of sleep disturbance may result from the e-tiology of heroin addicts. Heroin addicts have severe problems in sleep after detoxification, It is very im-portant to pay more attention to the improvement of sleep quality and psychological treatment of heroin ad-dicts during detoxification.
