The purpose of the project is to examine how Vancouver Foundation views the use of technology, and will make a number of recommendations to the Foundation with regard to their future strategy and approach to technology. In the process, I utilized an appreciative inquiry frame of reference. Appreciative inquiry attempts to identify what works within an organization and to build from that base.; This report collects the thoughts, ideas, concerns, and feelings of the people who make up the Foundation as it concerns information technology. It identifies the duality felt by many with regard to technology, and it outlines the expectations staff have about how they should be involved in developing a future vision and important direction for the Foundation.; Working from the assumption that the ability and commitment of the staff team is the greatest strength of the Foundation, the report inquires about people's perceptions with respect to working at the Foundation, and asks for their suggestions as to how to make the Foundation's working environment even better.; The report, in the review of organizational documents section, also chronicles the evolution of both technological innovation and the development of a stronger sense of process and team at the Foundation.; Finally, the report offers a number of recommendations for the Foundation to move forward with its technological strategy, while doing so in a manner that is fully consistent with its continuing desire to build internal capacity, and engage the staff team in creating the future of the Foundation.
