This thesis describes the procedures to estimate the Erlangs Capacity of two inherently different traffic services: Circuit Switched Voice and Circuit Switched Data traffic services that a multi-rate Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) cellular system can support. The system capacity on the Forward Link will be estimated through simulations.; Our simulation is also to show how imperfect orthogonality of the Forward Link channels affects the overall capacity estimated and system performance. In addition, this thesis will also provide an analysis on some critical scenarios where a group of users with specific properties are more vulnerable to changes in traffic distributions, i.e., how the system discriminates one service over another under some circumstances. The interaction between two traffic services and the effects of these interactions have on the system capacity and performance will also be investigated.; A simulator is built to simulate this simplified and integrated Voice and Data cdma2000 cellular system. It could be used as a basis for future research in areas such as Admission Control, Radio Resource Management, etc.
